18 October 2008It was Saturday Morning at 06.00 when we departed from our house in Cengkareng, Jakarta to have a refreshing family moment out of daily stressing town. We headed to Puncak, one of the famous hills in West Java to go to Curug 7 Cilember. Curug is a sundanese language, one of language available in Java Island, for waterfall.
Our destination is actually a little closer than we supposed to be headed and we finally chosen not to go to our main place firstly but to famous Tea Plantation in Gunung Mas, Puncak, just to have a brief family breakfast. Although we pretty sure that there is meal facility in Curug 7 Cilember but we had chosen to have it at the tea plantation. At 06.00 in the morning, it is not so much to be prepared at, especially breakfast. Moreover, once in a month, we usually go to this place just to have a breakfast and breathe fresh cold air, not to mention the green view along the horizon.
We arrived at 07.30 in Gunung Mas. In the cold weather, we had hot noodle with sliced chili, serabi [one of traditional Indonesian food] and hot ginger tea.
Noodle, plus sliced spicy chili.
Serabi cakes, there were 5 pieces actually, the other two have already gone to our stomach.

After breathing cold fresh air, which never exists in town, we headed to our main direction, Curug 7 Cilember. It is located between the bottom of Puncak hill, or we can say in Ciawi city to the tea plantation, Gunung Mas, therefore we went downhill. From the main Puncak road, of you are from Ciawi, there is a tiny slim road heading to the facility at the left side of the road. There is a big sign saying “Curug 7 Cilember” before the tiny road so you will not miss it. The tiny road is just a few meters from “Cimory”, a famous yoghurt seller in Puncak. From our direction, the road is on the right side.
The tiny road length to the facility is approximately 2 KM. When we went there, the tiny road is not very good – bumpy road, so be prepared. 2 little car can pass in the same time, but not wide car – like Mercedes. Wide car needs to be patient as it only can pass 1 by 1 at some places along the road.
Approximately at 09.15 we arrived and here are the pictures of the facilities, Curug 7 Cilember:
*by the way, in the pictures, the date was on 17 October 2008 but the real date was 18 October 2008.

With this little car, we were travelling half Java Island.
Funny... There is "Love-Shaking Bridge"... It's actually a 5 meters bridge that shakes, nothing more.
The facility has Butterfly Conservation Area.

Curug No. 6 is not reachable unless you have hiking equipment, or smart enough to think that your brain is in your knees, not in the head.

The other Curug, No. 4 to No. 1 is not in our schedule on that day because of the uphill track was very exhausting. After Curug No. 5, we call it a day and had lunch in the food huts available.
